My latest voiceacting role is in Scion, by Josephkw.  I have had the pleasure of working with Joseph on several projects over the past few years, and each time he manages to surprise me (in a good way!).  This movie is no exception and lives up to the high standards Joseph sets.

I sure hope to see many of you next weeked at the Machinima Expo!  

The full schedule can be found here.  Highlights for me include viewing the movies being screened on Saturday and participating in a live Wolf & Dulci Hour (with special co-host Anim8tor Cathy filling in for Wolf) at 3PM PST, and also checking out some of the featured topics on Sunday.  

Sunday's topics include: What Makes Great Film?; Hearing With Your Eyes & Seeing With Your Ears; and Thinking Outside The Frame.  There will also be a special discussion entitled "May iClone Be With You" by CodeWarior Carling, Anim8tor Cathy, and Animatechnica.

Plato's Reality Machine will be Myles Sorenson's first feature film as both writer and director. He will be using a combination of live action and machinima.

 

 

As Myles states, "We have a great up and coming actress attached: Trieste Kelly Dunn. She was just in the indie hit "Cold Weather" and was named one of the top 25 faces of independent film. And we also have an awesome DP, just profiled in Cinematography magazine.

I have been using IClone for awhile now and I originally thought I would create the video-game sequences in the film myself. But they have become too complicated, so I hired an expert in IClone to create the animations, James C. Martin. He's already made a video-game set fly-through you can see in the above link. It's going to be awesome!

We are using a 30 day kickstarter campaign to get the funds we need for the shoot. Help us out if you can, even $10 is a big help! And either way stay tuned for updates and help spread the word!"

The Golden Pinhead's are a prestigious award voted by your peers. It is a symbolic win, and your name will be engraved on a Golden Pinhead and displayed in our Hall of Fame.

The prizes are awarded via careful consideration by the committee and other select members of the community. With Pinhead, we have always emphasized that a good story is worth more than a lot of special effects and it is even more lovely when there is an entry that excels in both areas.

Once again, the winner of the Best 3D as judged by committee and peers will receive Avid Studio, a recently released program from Avid and along with that, Smartsound have thrown in their Plugin for the program. Prize is worth $200.00.

The iCloners in the Reallusion community are searching for ways to get voiceactors involved in their movies. A lot of them use "Microsoft Sam", narration, only themselves, or no dialogue at all in their movies because there is some uncertainity or mixed expectations on how to get others to participate in their movies.

If you are a voiceactor interested in getting involved, simply fill out the Contact Form Safegaard has put up.  He is working on putting together a voice gallery for easy reference.

They are looking for people with any level of experience, including no experience at all.

In honor of National Poetry Month and our on-going fandom of William Shatner (and because I had so much fun participating in Talk Like William Shatner Day), the Wolf & Dulci Hour is running an APE during April.  The Audience Participation Event is all about reading poetry in a Shatner-esque style.

The criteria are simple:

!) Narrate any poem, original or public domain, in a Shatner-esque fashion

2) Choose your animation program: iClone, CrazyTalk, or CrazyTalk Animator (all 3 have downloadable free trial versions, so you don't have to buy anything if you don't own the software already)

3) Create a Shatner-esque character

4) Create your video!

5) Post your video - TMUnderground, CoolClones, YouTube, Vimeo, anything that you can send us a link to

6) Email your video name & link to your video to: wolfanddulcihour@gmail.com

Prizes? We're not sure yet, but you'll definitely get bragging rights!

 

Deadline for submission is April 30, 2011.

Inspired by Warlord's recent tests and the work Mallet Prop Studios has done with Animatechnica's JCSS production, I bought a Kinect over the weekend and will be doing some experiments with motion capture into iClone via iPi Soft.

I've run into some minor difficulties installing the software onto my laptop, but suspect that's more due to user error than a real software issue.
